Description
Bodhidharma (also called Bodai-Daruma) is regarded as the first patriarch of Zen (or Chan) Buddhism, which he brought from India to China around the end of the 5th century.
This is a very beautiful figure, which is quite rare due to its size and the finely detailed face. The facial expression corresponds to the typically fierce face of the Zen monk from India.
The sleeves of the kolomo - the monk's robe - also impress with their wealth of detail.
The figure is in very good condition and has no flaws.
