Description
In warm ocher and rust tones, an autumnal hill landscape stretches out, through which a tiny figure with a bent back searches for its way. The path winds like a fine streambed between the hills, while at the upper edge of the image a tree in luminous foliage underscores the season.
The painting is executed with fine brushstrokes on paper, entirely in the tradition of Japanese landscape painting of the Shôwa period, which captures mood and expanse with a few deliberately placed areas of color. As this is a makuri, the painting is delivered unframed and without scroll mounting – ideal for collectors who wish to have it mounted or framed individually.
The reduced composition leaves much room for the viewer's imagination and recalls Japan's long tradition of hiking, in which nature always appears greater than man. An atmospheric unique work for lovers of traditional ink painting.
