Description
A warm-toned chawan by Rakunyu Yoshimura, its surface immediately catching the eye with a deep, golden-brown glaze. The vessel displays the hand-formed irregularity typical of the Raku tradition, emphasized here by a finely relieved texture. The glaze pools in the recesses, creating a lively interplay of glossy and matte areas that conveys the impression of a naturally grown surface.
With its compact form, the chawan sits securely in the hand and radiates that quiet simplicity which has characterized Raku ware for centuries. Gentle transitions between darker and lighter areas underscore the depth of the material, while the slightly drawn-in sides give the vessel a harmonious profile.
The chawan is accompanied by a signed wooden box, which confirms its origin from the workshop of Rakunyu Yoshimura and at the same time marks it as a collectible object of contemporary tea ceramics.
