Description
An intense red tone defines the appearance of this chawan from the workshop of Sairi Hotoku. The glaze reveals a lively depth, traversed by subtle shadings and a fine, irregular texture. Made in the tradition of Raku ware, the bowl unfolds its effect through simplicity and expressive strength at once.
The slightly irregular shaping lends it an organic character that deliberately makes the handcrafted process visible. It is precisely these asymmetries, combined with the rich glaze, that make the bowl an ideal vessel for the tea ceremony – marked by warmth, calm, and meditative concentration.
