Description
Hotei (also known as the Laughing Buddha) is one of the Seven Lucky Gods in Japan and is usually depicted as a potbellied, laughing monk.
This figure is made of brass (not cast) and is presumably about 90-100 years old. The accompanying small stand is made of lacquered wood.
We assume that the country of origin is China. According to the previous owner, however, the Hotei Figure Made of Brass with Wooden Stand was brought back from Japan and comes from an old family estate.
