Description
Rendered in harmonious coloring, this work bearing the seal of Mikami Kyokuho shows a delicate scene from Japanese nature. Among finely detailed bamboo leaves, red berries glow, their vivid hue forming a lively contrast to the calm base tone of the silk. Perched on one of the branches sits a small bird, its posture radiating both calm and alertness.
The composition attests to the artist's masterful control over line and color – every movement of the brush follows a clear rhythm that makes the natural balance between energy and serenity palpable. The luminous red and green tones are subtly attuned to one another, lending the painting a warm, almost meditative presence.
Painted on fine silk in the Showa period, with jikusaki made of bone, this work stands as an exemplary fusion of traditional Japanese aesthetics and modern expressive power.
