Description
This enchanting kakemono from the Meiji period depicts a majestic owl sitting attentively on a branch, surrounded by autumn leaves. The attention to detail in the depiction of the owl and the leaves lends the image a lively yet tranquil atmosphere. The soft color tones and clear brushstrokes capture the stillness of an autumn evening.
The work was painted on fine rice paper by the renowned artist Yurin Ishikawa, whose stamp adorns the artwork. The wooden jikusaki emphasizes the traditional character of this extraordinary kakemono and lends it an authentic touch.
This artwork is a classic example of Japanese animal painting and fascinates through its combination of realistic depiction and minimalist composition. Ideal for collectors of Japanese art or as a special highlight in any setting that unites nature and elegance.
