Description
The monochrome landscape unfolds in soft shades of gray, creating a quiet, early-morning atmosphere. Wisps of mist envelop the high mountain slopes, while the round moon remains visible as if behind a veil. On the slope stands a simple thatched-roof house, flanked by a plum tree whose delicate blossoms stand out in fine white accents, lending the image a poetic focal point. In the foreground, flat expanses of water and low shoreline plants run quietly through the composition.
In the lower right is the inscription with the accompanying seal of Shōun (松雲). The work dates from the Shōwa period, is executed on silk, fitted with jikusaki made of bone, and comes in a signed wooden box.
