Description
Between brightly colored orange and yellow chrysanthemum blossoms, a small speckled bird has settled and gazes attentively downward - a richly colored motif that combines an autumnal mood with quiet observation of nature. The dense flower clusters and the rich green foliage lend the composition a pleasant fullness.
The chrysanthemum is considered one of the most important flowers in Japan and serves as an imperial symbol of longevity and permanence. Combined with a small bird, the motif is further enriched with a note of liveliness and everydayness that is typical of Kachō-ga painting.
A shikishi is a firm mounting board for painting and calligraphy. Please note: only the shikishi is included in delivery; the mount shown in the images is for illustration purposes only and can be purchased separately from us. A warm, autumnally toned motif with vivid coloring.
