Description
The composition of this exceptional Kakemono from the Showa period combines the vivid nature of the surroundings with the movement of two fish swimming in a flowing stream. Along the bank, delicate white blossoms wind along a rocky elevation, whose detailed depiction reflects the harmony between stillness and dynamism in nature. The artist Akamatsu Unrei brings the scene to life on silk through a masterful interplay of color and structure.
The work is fitted with Jikusaki made of bone, which underscore the traditional style of the artwork. In addition, the Kakemono is delivered in a signed wooden box, which emphasizes its historical and artistic value and allows for safe storage.
