Description
This yunomi presents itself in a deep black with warm orange-red gradients, its cylindrical shape making it ideal for everyday tea enjoyment. The rich glaze with its shifting color gradients arises from the interplay of iron oxides and the individual kiln atmosphere during firing, giving each piece a unique, unrepeatable color pattern.
The slightly wavy line of the rim and the tactile, finely structured wall reveal the handwork of the Kyoto potter Kiyoraku Heian. Kyoto ware, also known as Kyo-yaki, is counted among the most demanding traditions of Japanese pottery and combines technical precision with a pronounced attention to detail - qualities that are also reflected in this simple yet striking tea cup.
The yunomi is delivered in a wooden box signed by the master potter, which protects the piece and attests to its authenticity.
