Description
For seven generations, the art of Hagi ware pottery has been passed down within the Kaneda family, and this tea bowl too bears the characteristic features of this long tradition: a warm, slightly grainy glaze in beige and pink tones with fine crackle.
The chawan was made by Eimon Kaneda, who, as a seventh-generation master potter, combines the inherited techniques of his ancestors with a calm, balanced form.
The bowl comes in a signed wooden box that attests to its provenance and is suitable for safekeeping – a significant piece for collectors and connoisseurs of Japanese tea ceramics.
