Description
The Hagi firing technique is one of the oldest ceramic traditions in Japan and is known for its porous, warmly iridescent glaze that develops further with every use. This very characteristic patina appears on this tea bowl in soft beige and ochre tones with fine crackle.
In the 1980s, master potter Zuiho Ono made this Chawan Made of Hagi Ware by Zuiho Ono with a calm, balanced form and a slightly raised foot, which gives the bowl a firm yet elegant stand.
The bowl comes in a wooden box signed by the master, which documents its provenance and is suitable for safe storage – a coherent ensemble for tea ceremony enthusiasts and collectors of traditional Japanese ceramics.
