Description
This impressive kakemono, titled "Kingfisher by the River," shows a luminous kingfisher resting on a wooden post, captured in a minimalist and tranquil composition. The work dates from the Showa period and bears the seal "Daiya". The depiction is modeled after the famous painting by Miyamoto Musashi, which lends the piece a particular historical and cultural depth.
The careful coloring of the bird sets it apart in high contrast from the subtle, nearly empty surroundings, drawing focus to its elegance and grace. Painted on high-quality paper and fitted with jikusaki made of wood, the artwork is delivered in a signed wooden box. This presentation underscores the authentic charm and value of the piece, which represents a particular highlight for both art collectors and lovers of traditional Japanese painting alike.
