Description
A pink branch, thrown onto the surface as if with a single brushstroke, runs across the oval body of this vase and carries a dense web of red and white blossoms, while scattered golden flecks in the upper section of the vase create a particular luminosity.
The flowering plum branch is one of the most timeless motifs in Japanese porcelain painting and symbolizes new beginnings and the joy over the approaching spring. This vase is made of Kutani ware porcelain and hand-painted, with the bold contours and the vivid color gradation showing the care typical of this tradition. The piece dates from the Heisei period.
Unlike some comparable pieces, this vase is delivered without a separate storage box, making it an uncomplicated choice that is ready for immediate use. With its expressive painting, it is an impressive eye-catcher for lovers of Japanese porcelain art.
