Description
A robust reddish-brown meets golden-yellow ash glaze, running like liquid light over the upper rim of this sake cup – an impressive example of the distinctive firing craftsmanship of Bizen ware.
Handcrafted by Kimura Tamafune, the cup shows a slightly angular, organic form that fits perfectly in the hand and underscores the traditional character of Bizen pottery. Glaze is deliberately omitted, so that clay, fire, and ash alone are responsible for the coloring.
The cup comes in a wooden box signed by the artist, which is ideally suited for storage and lends the piece additional collector's value.
