Description

Slender and elegant, the long, narrow neck of this copper vase rises above a pear-shaped, gently curved body whose dark, shimmering patina shifts between blackish-brown and a warm coppery glow – an effect created through traditional surface treatment of the metal.

Coppersmithing has a long tradition in Japan and, much like ceramics, is carried out by masters who harmonize form and patina by hand. The clear, reduced silhouette of this vase deliberately dispenses with additional decoration, allowing material and proportion alone to take effect – a restraint that lends the object a timeless elegance.

The vase was crafted by Ikkei Nosaku, whose signature affirms the careful craftsmanship. It is delivered in a wooden box signed by the artist, offering this unique work a stylish and secure place of storage.
