Description

In Japanese iconography, the dragon is regarded as a guardian of wisdom, strength, and good fortune – a motif that unfolds in this vase made of solid bamboo with impressive depth of detail. Scales, claws, and flowing mane are worked out in the finest relief carving, making the mythical creature seem to emerge from the material itself.

The vase was carved entirely by hand from a single bamboo stalk, with the material's natural grain and honey-colored tones deliberately incorporated into the design. This technique requires great skill and patience, as every curve of the stalk must be worked into the composition.

As a decorative one-of-a-kind piece, the vase is suitable both for holding flowers and as a standalone display object, bringing a piece of traditional Japanese craftsmanship into any home.
