Description

Warm, creamy white Shino glaze meets bold rust-red fire marks that trace irregularly across the bottle and cups of this sake set – a characteristic feature of the long-standing tradition of Shino ware from Mino province.

The set comprises a rounded sake bottle and two matching drinking cups, whose thick-walled, slightly rough glaze is typical of the old Shino firing technique. Each piece was hand-formed, so that fine differences in shape and color gradation remain visible.

With its warm, inviting presence, this ensemble is ideally suited to traditional sake culture or as a decorative gift for lovers of Japanese ceramic art.
