Description

During the Heisei period, the artist Makita Hiroyoshi made this sake cup of Shino ware, whose thick, creamy white glaze transitions into a warm rust red toward the edges – a play of colors characteristic of traditional Mino ware.

The slightly irregular, hand-formed silhouette of the cup, with its organically curved rim, gives the piece a natural, unobtrusive elegance that feels pleasant in the hand.

The cup is delivered in a wooden box signed by the artist, which documents its provenance and is ideally suited for storage – a special piece for collectors and enthusiasts of Japanese sake culture.
